Idiotic Idioms

I was going through some old eighth grade student work samples and came across one of Billy's. He's a senior in high school this year. As an exercise, I gave them the first phrase to some common idioms (italicized below). Their job was to fill in the rest with what they thought fit. Here are some of the ones that cracked me up:

Don't change horses, take your chances.

Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and they die laughing at you.

When the blind lead the blind succeed.

Strike while the job is unfair.

Two's company, three's more.

It's always darkest before you open the door.

If you lay down with dogs, you end up looking like one.
