The End

Finished.

Night o' Fun

After dinner the other night, a spontaneous game of Mad Gab occurred, and then we moved to Catch Phrase. When things started getting out of control, I realized that I had to grab my camera and capture some of the memories.

Time in Knoxville

I just got back from Knoxville visiting Steph, Colin and Hudson. We had a great time! I will say that I completed my twenty-first new thing in my twenty-eighth year. See the pic below and you get one guess as to what it is...

Oh yes. Sushi.

I'd never had sushi before, and Steph and Colin love it. They recommended the Super Crunch. Salmon, cucumber, seaweed, rice and little beady things. I gagged and about urped it right back up. Let's just say I won't be having it anymore.

Hudson and I had a fun time playing.

It took him a little while, but he eventually warmed up to me. I didn't want to leave!

Steph and I took him to a park where he got to swing.

Don't you love this picture? If you get in close enough you can see the little piece of broccoli on his lip. Too cute.

And I saved the best for last. My first time playing karaoke revolution. Wow. This could be my singing audition for the Singing Bee. I'm SURE they'd take me. They could be guaranteed not to lose any money by my winnings and also a rating spike by the comedic performance. Unfortunately, I got dealt songs that I didn't even know. Those of you who know me can vouch that while I'm no Celine, I DO sing better than this. No, there was NO alcohol involved. I gave up and just started attempting to hum at the end and Steph takes over for me.

Where's the Beef?

Meet Bacon, or more affectionately titled by me, Bacon Bit. Bacon is my roommate's new dog. I secretly let him inside today to show her what he liked to do while she was away. Basically, it's rip newspaper. Katie, too bad Bacon is also a boy. But maybe Bacon and The Sausage can be BFF.

The Garlic

Dad pointed out a while back that my posts tend to feature food quite often. That's true. Even if I'm not full-blooded, I have genuine Italian blood running through my veins. What more can I say? NSB has one of my faovite restaurants -- and not so much for the food, believe it or not, but for the ambiance. Not that the food isn't good; it is. I'm just a bit of a romantic, and the ambiance of this place is phenomenal. I couldn't just show you pictures, I had to let you experience the awesomeness that is The Garlic. Too bad, as someone mentioned, that this blog isn't scratch and sniff.

Since I can't add text to my video, I'll explain some of the stuff. The Garlic imports hand painted pottery from Sicily. I usually buy a dish each year that we go. After the entrance showing all the pottery, you'll notice a HUGE blob of wax. When the restaurant first opened they had a wooden rocking chair with some white candles placed on it. As the wax dripped they added more and more candles until the rocking chair was completely hidden and it looks like what it does today. I guess, judging by the fact that the candles are now in glass holders, that they decided they needed to put an end to the madness of the wax. There is also a picture of me with a huge bowl of "stinky" cheese. That would be parmigiano. The house specialty is their bread and roasted garlic that they mash and drown in EVOO (thanks Rachael) and balsamic vinegar. I tried to capture a picture of the lit palm trees, but it doesn't do the veranda justice. And then finally a pic of me and my Dad's cousin and the extended family -- the only kind of family reunion we usually have. So, enjoy my boring video!

Name My Car

*Note: Last chance to vote is midnight tonight, 7/5/07!

So I come from a weird family who names their cars. Or, at least my sister and I do. Her 4Runner's name is Jake. (Don't judge. Mandy named her iPod Julio.) Since I am going to be getting a new car in August I figured I better start looking for names. So, I'm having a Name My Car survey. Below are my favorite names. Of course, you may also write in votes under the comment section. Since I will be getting a Sorento, and a Sorento is named after the Italian city Sorrento on the Amalfi coast, I figured it was only appropriate that I name my car an Italian name. So go ahead. Vote away.

If my new car had a name, what would it be?

Massimo (Mah-see-mo)

Giuseppe (Jee-oo-zay-pay)

Alessandro (Ah-lay-sahn-dro)

Gino (Jee-no)

Uncle Luigi
