I Declare "Sanctuary"

In ancient history, a criminal could flee to a church when being pursued and declare "sanctuary" -- that is, safety from his captors. It has even been depicted or alluded to in recent movies such as The Patriot and The Count of Monte Cristo.

I, too, need to declare sanctuary. I need to run into the arms of Jesus and declare it. I need Him to rescue me and fight for me and keep me safe. I know He will.

Matthew West's song Only Grace reminds me of the sanctuary I'll find in the arms of Jesus:
