Made clean

During my stay at the beach we had a particularly windy day. The wind came in gusts and piled the sand up on the concrete deck overlooking the ocean. I woke the next morning and noticed the maintenance man on the deck with a large shovel. He scooped shovels full of sand and tirelessly threw them back over the seawall. All morning and noon he worked -- hours and hours upon end. As he took the hose and watered away the remaining grits of sand, I chuckled and shook my head. "Why did he spend all these hours doing this? It's just going to get windy soon and pile more sand onto the deck. He wasted all those hours when he could have been using them to get something more productive done!"

And suddenly, God spoke to me. "Nothing is wasted. It's like My love for you. You'll make mistakes. You'll fall down and get dirty. But every time I'm going to pick you up, hose you off, and make you clean again."

Wow.

"He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground
and steadied me as I walked along."

Thanks be to the only One who can lift us up out of the dirt and grime. The One who never grows tired of picking us up and making us clean again. The One whose love never runs dry.

Don't you just love it when God takes every day life and makes a lesson out of it JUST FOR YOU?! Your relationship with HIM is showing. heheheh
